At First Baptist we have a set of values that helps us with understanding who we are and serves as a compass in providing direction for fulfilling God’s plan for us.

| Missional

Missional living is about being a missionary where we live, work, and play. Jesus said, “For the Son of Man has come to seek and save that which was lost” (Luke 19:10). In light of this mission, Jesus has given us the same responsibility: “As the Father has sent me, I also send you” (John 20:21b). Missional living is all about building bridges. Instead of waiting for people to come to us, we seek to build bridges to where people already live, work, and play.

| Relational

Relationships are God’s ultimate design for spiritual growth to develop and mature. “We urge you, brethren, admonish the unruly, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with everyone” (I Thess. 5:14). Our small group ministry consists of 10-12 people that meet on a weekly basis and do life together. These groups serve as the ultimate destination in our disciple-making process.

| Community Partnerships

Community Partnerships is the way First Baptist is making the gospel relevant throughout our community. It was said of Jesus that, “the Word became flesh and blood, and moved into the neighborhood” John 1:14 (MSG). Way too often the church is comfortable residing on the inside of it’s walls. Community Partnerships is about the church leaving the building.

| Restoration

Restoration begins with the understanding that none of us have it all together. This perception has kept far too many people away from God and a relationship with His Son, Jesus. At First Baptist, we are seeking to become a place of hope, healing, and new beginnings. Jesus was the perfect example of One who offered restoration by speaking truth while at the same time sharing “out of this world” compassion. He said, “I do not condemn you, either. Go. From now on sin no more” (John 8:11b).
